Things I can't live without, Spring 2010

So as we head into yet another season at the Pierce home, I thought it an appropriate time to send a shout out to some of the "most used products" of the season around here.

I'll start my list here with a shout out to Fusion plastic spray paint. I've been repainting all kinds of things around here. Last week I painted a couple nasty looking white lawn chairs we had. They're red now. Bright, awesome red. I also painted a little chair in our living room. Amazing what a fresh coat of spray paint (used approximately 2 cans per chair @ $3.50 each) can do to bring a fresh look for spring!
These Post-It notes have a magnet on the back. They are pretty long and they make my list making lifestyle a breeze. At any given time I may or may not have up to 5 sticky note lists on my fridge. Warning: Imitation brands do not hold up nearly as well.
And who hasn't caught me texting this spring? Couldn't do it with out my LG Rumor! QWERTY is the way to be!
So here's one I'm looking to replace... I've been using these disinfectant wipes all over the house. I'm not partial to brands on these - what ever is cheap. But if there is a good way to make them and save some dough - someone let me in on that!
And save the best for last! Tiny Diner! You rock our lives!
We got this portable place mat for Savannah at Toys are us. It rolls up into itself and is great for restaurants. Since Savannah switched recently from her high chair to the booster seat, we have found it great at the table at home too. It suctions to the table so she cant flip it over, and when dinner is over, I just bring the whole mess over to the sink to wash. I recommend this as a baby gift to anyone. MUST HAVE.
Keep any eye out for our next review, probably sometime mid July when we bring you "must haves of summer 2010". I know you're on the edge of your seat!

My First Hair Cut

Today Mommy and I went and got hair cuts at House Of Hair by mommy's friend Amanda Benson. Boy is she good at her job!

It was my first hair cut so I didn't really know what was going on. I know what hair is, but when mommy kept saying "you're getting a hair cut today" I just went with it and said "yeah". But honestly, I had no idea what she was saying.

Here's my before pictures. See how straggly it was. Daddy was sad for me to get it cut. He likes mullets. I was okay with it, but what do I know? I'm not even two!
Like I said, I had no clue what we were doing. But I like new places and I like Amanda.

I got to sit in this char and look at myself in the mirror the whole time. Bonus. I love looking in the mirror. I also wore this plastic shirt with monsters on it! Bonus.
Amanda got my hair all wet. I kinda liked it. Oh, and Grandma came too which was super fun because I love Grandma! The whole cut took less time than one episode of Elmo's world. I don't really know time, but I know that's short.
At the end Amanda dried my hair with a dryer! I've never used one before, but mommy does it all the time so I was interested in that. She also curled my hair with a hot stick! I'm pretty cute looking.
Check me out!
Daddy will be happy because it's still pretty long. Mommy will be happy because it looks so pretty and I'm her pretty little girl.
Thanks to everyone who made this day possible. Thanks Daddy for approving my first hair cut before I was two. Thanks Mommy for paying for it and not trying to do it yourself. Thanks Amanda for your steady hands and kid friendly atmosphere. And thanks Grandma for the moral support and for taking me home for a nap after - I needed it after all that excitement!

Catching up with my facebook...

I've had these pictures (plus more) on my facebook for a while. So incase you don't "do" facebook, here's what's going on.

This picture is from our day trip to Williamsburg, IA for some shopping. Savannah was a huge trooper! She watched Elmo videos in the car the whole time in the car (2 hours) and did great in the stores. She's growing up so much.

We have been out to parks a lot lately. Savannah can pretty much navigate her way around playgrounds without help, but she still likes it when mommy plays with her. Travis doesn't like it when she does up the stairs on this slide, but I'm impressed by it!

This is the perfect representation of our Easter. We had a little egg hunt in my parent's yard. The eggs each had 4 or so jelly beans in them and Sav put them all in her mouth along the way. At the end of the day her dress had brown jelly bean slobber all over it, but it was so worth it!
I put this temp tattoo on Savannah like 3 weeks ago! It just wont go away. She loves it now. One time I was at HyVee (last summer) and I had a fake tattoo on Savannah. An old lady came over and threatened to report me to the authorities if it was a real tattoo. Come on people. Just because I have tattoos doesn't mean I'm dumb enough to hold my kid down and get her tattooed. I'm pretty sure that one was SpongeBob or something dumb like that too. If I was going to give Sav a tattoo it would at least be a cool one.
That's us in a nut shell. For now.
