Swim swam

Savannah got done with her swimming lessons today. She loves swimming so much and even though she didn't pass preschool level 3, I'm still really proud of her. She can dive down and get stuff and swim pretty far under water. The skills will develop later :) I'm just glad she's mine!

Yeah, I don't blog

So it's summer - and one of my summer time traditions is to blog less. Way way way less.  We're just too busy being out and about - and when we aren't out and about, I'm catching up on all the house stuff I wasn't doing while we were swimming or at the lake or whatever.  So here's what you might have missed if you don't keep up with us any other way:

We announced to Facebook that we're having a baby in December!  Today we are at 14 weeks.  Savannah could not be more excited about being a big sister.

Travis and I went to the Rosebud Indian Reservation in South Dakota for a week.  Savannah stayed back home with my mom and dad.  She had such a good time that she asked if we could all just live with them forever.  We made some new friends over there - it was strange to not go to Panama this summer too.

Travis has been working hard this summer painting houses with my dad.  He's a hard worker and a great provider for our family.  I'm so thankful that he is willing to work more than his normal job so that  I can afford to work part time and hang out with Savannah!
Also, he got a job offer in Ames! We're excited about this because teaching in Ames will give him an extra two hours at home every day.  He has loved working in Marshalltown, but nothing can replace the time we'll get with him every morning and evening.

And did I mention that our house is a mess.  Yeah - it is.  So off I go to work on some laundry or picking up the floors, or toys, or yard...

New

I haven't been writing a lot in my blogs lately. There's just too much to do, plus I do everything on my iPhone now which severely slows down my typing. But I was feeling a little guilty today that I had not yet reported a couple of Savannah's most awesome moments as of late.

The other night when Travis was putting savannah to bed she told Travis she was going to pray and ask God if He would make her fly.  So she closed her eyes for a few minutes and prayed.  Then Travis said, "What do you think He said?" - Savannah said "He said, YES, NO, YES, NO! Our God is silly!".  We think she thinks God and Travis have the same sense of humor.

We were driving the other day and savannah said she wants to live in a house as big as the sky.  I told her God has a house bigger than the sky and he is preparing rooms for US in it!  She asked if she could pray and ask God to make her room pink, so I told her to go ahead.  This was her prayer (out loud) " Dear God, please make my room in your house in heaven pink, and put pictures of Brisco in it because I loooooove Brisco.  And put pictures of me in daddy's room because he loves me so much. And we love you God.  Amen."

We saw weselie

A friend of mine from high school, Leslie Hall, was playing with her band on Campus last night. Our whole family has been big Leslie fans for years so we went with my folks and took it in. Sav started appreciating her talents when we showed her some guest appearances on Yo Gabba Gabba but we have moved on to watching her 'Body Rolls' video on a regular basis. (YouTube it if you want to see it - totally worth the search)
