Punkins

Yesterday we started our fall time mode - we picked out pumpkins!!!
My friend Laura told me about this place outside of town that is pretty cheap. And the pumpkins are already picked but out in the grass so kids still kinda have that pick your own feel without actually going in the field.

We paint our pumpkins so that I can bake them an use them to cook with later. I'm more excited for fall than usual this year - mostly because the majority of clothes that it me these days are long pants and long sleeves. I'm also excited to get to where I wear sweats all the time.
Here's some I our family fun

I love mornings

Today started like a lot of days with Savannah running around upstairs in her underwear stopping only to love on (torture) our dog. Today she said "take our picture mommy". So I did.

One thing I am loving about mornings lately is that we are sitting down to have family breakfast together.  We have never been able to do that before because 1. Travis left the house at 5:50am and didn't return until 5pm, and 2. We didn't have anywhere to be right away most days so Savannah and I didn't eat breakfast until later on.  So now we all sit down before every rushes off for the day and talk and pray together.  It's so nice.

So what I don't love about mornings still is getting up and doing ANYTHING.  When I was pregnant with Savannah I didn't have to be at work until 10am on any given day and I remember wondering how in the world most pregnant woman get up and get going.... guess you just make it happen.

Blondes

I love Wednesdays now.  Savannah doesn't have school on Wednesdays.
Today we spent some time just hanging around watching TV.  Then we went to Starbucks for some drinks and a donut.  Then to a park with some of our friends.  I love Wednesdays.

And my two favorite blondes: The kid and the coffee

Surgery 2012

Savannah had a second round of tubes put in her ears today. Well, actually, the left one is secure from last year but the right one needed replaced. The surgeon said she had lots of "glue" in her right ear. Yuck! He also said her adenoids were huge so they went ahead and took those out too ( we approved it before they went in).

The whole thing took about 45 minutes from the time savannah left us till they brought her back. She was pretty upset when she came out from the Anastasia and cried or a while, but other than that she was amazingly brave. We've been watching TV and eating Popsicles all day :)

Baby Belly

This little baby is still growing and now kicking!  I've been feeling a lot of moving around lately - it's become those harder kicks that you can feel from the outside sometimes. And SEE from the outside.   It's so weird :)
Some woman love being pregnant - I don't know why.  I mean, it's not the worst thing ever, but it's definitely a condition.  Tiredness, aches, restrictions, and then there's the growth of every part of my body....

Anyway, baby is growing fine.  My pregnancy app tells me that the baby is the size of an eggplant (about 2 pounds).  We have a name picked out - but I ought to think of some charming way to post it if I'm going to tell the whole World Wide Web.

We have several needs/wants I'm realizing.  I don't expect anything from anyone, but since we had a little girl before, we have no boy things.  I made a wish list on Amazon.com.  I think you can search it under my name if you're interested.  It's more a general idea for me of what I need to be looking for.  I totally forgot that we would need things like a new changing pad cover (our current one is plush pink), or a bottle cleaning brush.  Oh yeah!  I can't imagine what other things we have forgotten about infants...

The real deal - official first day

Savannah got her day in the sun today. She woke up early, got her new school outfit on (compliments of Grammy), then we had a family first - we all sat at the table together and had breakfast! She was really excited to start school.

When I took her to the school she said she wanted to get dropped off so I pulled in the drop off line. We crept up there and then all of a sudden a teacher just came out and got her. Not big jugs or kisses or pep talks. They jt went in. She bopped in excitedly with the teacher - I drove away bawling like a baby.

When I picked her up she jumped in the car and gave me a huge hug. She said they played a lot, sang, had snack, had to sit still, and played on the play ground. Not a lot of detail yet :) we'll see what I can find out tomorrow.

School Glimpse

I got to take Savannah to her first unofficial day of school today.  They have the students come in for an hour with their parent to do a little scavenger hunt around the room.  It was really fun!

Here's how Savannah was feeling in the car before we went in for the first time.

Savannah's teacher (Ms. Suzanne) writes a messages to the class every day.  Part of the message today was to find the letter that her name starts with and circle it.  We liked that part.
Then we had to find a paper with her name on it and Savannah drew a picture of herself with Ms. Ileena, one of the aids in the class room.

Then we got to find Savannah's mail box.  She's getting pretty good at recognizing her own name which is good.

Out of order, but here's her picture when we left the house - I hope to get a little bit better one on her actual first day.  She's into making different faces when I try to take pictures lately.

Back in the class room, we found a picture of her that her teacher took when she visited our house last week. It was really nice for her to be able to find her own picture already up there.

Savannah had a great time in her room. Thursday is the big day when she will go from 8:30 - 11:15.  She's really excited but hasn't decided yet if she wants me to drop her off in the loop or walk her in :) What a big girl!

New addition - on the boat

This probably isn't really great to anyone else, but it's good news for our family!
My dad and Travis built a new bench for the back of the boat! There used to be a big gross box back there and it was totally falling apart.  Now we have this.. plus Travis modeling for it. :)

And I thought it would be nice to have some couples pictures to commemorate -

Here's Kevin and Donna - and Savannah  busting into their picture.

And Savannah showing off life jackets with our new friend Mikayla.

And then us.  Happy ending of summer time!
