We heart boat

We got to go boating over the weekend for the first time this year. Have I mentioned before about how our whole family loves water, sun, and boating? Cause it's sorta our thing.

Sieler best wedding ever

We were privileged to attended the wedding of two amazing friends - Ryan Sieler and Julie Larson. It was one of the best weddings ever. So if you're planning a wedding, here's why we loved it-
1. It was in their back yard. Guests arrived and just mingled in the back yard for a while.

2. We got to watch the wedding from a blanket! Our family just laid back and took it in.

3. Nattie. Any event is a win if Nattie is there.

4. When we arrived at the reception, the guests had already started eating! No hour long wait for the new couple.

We wish Ryan and Julie the best!

4!

I've been a little behind in my blogging lately. But here's a mostly picture post of Savannah's birthday last week.
Highlights: a little girl so excited she could burst all day, her asking Travis for a secret birthday gift - only to have him actually have one that just the two of them opened in her room, turtle races after the party, and her wish as she blew out the candles 'I wish that I could fly'. Love you Savannah Sue!

The Registers are MARRIED!

What?! Yep.  We got to take part in marring off two of our best friends over the weekend.  Alex Register and Charissa Erhdadfrdt.  ( I never actually learned how to spell her last name so I"m super glad it changed).  They were both in our high school Bible Studies when they were in school and as soon as they graduated we set them up!  We knew it was meant to be.  They're both faithful and wonderful servants of the Lord - and great friends!

Nattie can't believe it either.

Here's Charissa at the head table.  She looked fabulous.  Savannah has been waiting for six long months to see her in her wedding dress.  She asked every time we saw Charissa why she wasn't wearing it yet.

Since I was a bridesmaid, I got to get this little secret kiss picture.  We took so many pictures.  But lucky for us, Travis and I were BOTH in the wedding, so we got to hang out a lot too.  And the entire wedding party was made up of people we know and love.

Savannah opened up and after 2 hours closed down the dance floor. I'm really hoping she remembers how much fun she had an how great the whole wedding was. My family makes me smile - and so do the the Registers!

Momma, I'm outta here

I took Savannah and her friend to the park the other day and they just took off running. It's like she doesn't need me anymore.
But then I am so thankful for all those mornings she crawls into bed with me, all those days she comes and asks me to carry her because her little body is tired from running, and all those questions she asks over and over. She needs me. And always will.

Back to the olden days..sorta

My 88 year old Grandma has been in town for a couple of weeks.
Over the weekend we got to go to the Carousel in Story City with her and the rest of the family.  She grew up in Story City, and my dad and his siblings spent a lot of time their visiting their family, yet Savannah is the lucky girl that has ridden it more times in her life than all of them combined!
What's more funny - 9 adults took turns riding it with Savannah 7 times.  :)

High first Tea

My Aunts and Grandma have been in town from Oregon the last week or so.  They decided to do something special and invite Savannah over for her first Tea Party.  Needless to say, she loved it.

They got her this dress for her to play "wedding" in for Christmas and she was more than happy to wear it to the party.  Gloves and all.

Savannah had never done a tea party before, but she did great at stirring the tea (warm apple juice) and pouring the cream (white grape juice) and the sugar (which was imaginary).  She bought right on.
Since her Birthday is really close, and they won't be here - we had a fun early party for her.  We had cupcakes and gifts to go with it!  She was kinda surprised I think. Look at that face.

And the little princess did not make it home from the party awake.  We had to take a little side trip on the way home and wouldn't you know it, she zonked out!

Swim

I found out a couple weeks ago that I most likely have arthritis in my knee.  I've been running again this spring and have experience a lot of pain so I started physical therapy for it.  There is hope that I'll be able to run again soon, but for now swimming is the thing.  So we all went swimming the other night.

I love how genuinely scared she is in this picture.

Fire Fire

We went to an event the other day at the High School for kids - this was the high light.
Who's more excited? :)
We haven't talked to Savannah too much about things like fire.  It's hard to know how much she'd get - so right not protocol is "If you see a fire, get as far from it as you can and yell for Mom or Dad to help you as loud as you can"
